Album Review: All The Dead Pilots - Blackout

All The Dead Pilots
Blackout (2011)
Underground Law Records

Oh, where to start with this about fucking brilliant!! It's dark, melodic, heavy, and brutal. It has great screams, growls, singing, keys in the background, heavy ass guitars and breathtaking drum beats. I'm glad they didn't over use the keyboard but instead made it sound dramatic instead of dubstep. The part that impressed me the most was as you're listening to these brutal tracks, you get to the song "Broken Roads" and it's all clean vocals with piano. That shows how diverse they can be and that they are not afraid to step outside of the genre and give us a new spin on their music. The one track that made me drop everything and just listen was the song "Dr. Oz's Secret Weapon". It's hard to even explain how awesome and great that track is. Every aspect this band is about is represented in this track. So check out this album online and buy it and did I mention that it is NOT an EP!!! Ya that's right! A genre that is full of EP's actually has a full length to buy. While you're at it, pick up their 2009 release "Chasing The Horizon". This is a band to watch out for in 2011/2012.
